Paul Newman passes away at 83.

We have lost a lot of great actors this year and Paul Newman is just the latest. Mr. Newman was a great actor and human being. He starred in many movies and was recongized by his peers and the public for his acting abilities. When not in production of a movie he spent a great deal of time with various charitable activities.

Rest in Peace Mr. Newman.

Tax increase for the rich?

Obama I want to know how taking more money from “rich” people is going to help me the “non-rich” person? How is taxing business helping me, the person who doesn’t own business but works for someone who does?

I think I can answer my own questions.

1. Taking money from people who spend more money on things that keep the economy going and help business invest in the American worker, just doesn’t add up. Why would you want to punish someone who is really the bread and butter of the economy? You have help pertetuate the class warfare that helps tear a society apart.

2. The “rich” guy who owns a business is getting over taxed in personal wealth and in business wealth. Personal wealth see above. Business wealth cuts into my paycheck. If you overtax my employer that means he can grow the business and I don’t get a raise for the hard work I have put into helping the business prosper.

Clearly you don’t understand simple economics, let alone the economics of the 700 billion taxpayers dollars to save failing companies and pay the “golden parachutes” for the criminals that ran these organizations. Then you say you are going to grow government by another 800 billion dollars. Just read your own website. I can’t wait until you are regulated back to John Kerry status.

Seven Hundred Billion Dollars

Your Senator and Congressperson are making deals that will come over the weekend. You need to call or email your representative and senator and tell them, No!this is not good for the taxpayer, this is not good for the economy and that is not good for American society. I have sent an email each day this week to my elected officials. Will you?

$700,000,000,000

If the government feels the need to hand out 700 billion dollars, just give it to the citizens of the United States. We will be happy to take it and spend it. That is what we do.

Day 3 of the Republican Convention

Huckabee was good. He was everything thing his supporters believe he is. Rudy Guilliani, by far was much better. Rudy said everything that needed to be said and then turned the knife. By the end of his speech I was feeling sorry that Gov. Palin had to follow that. I am not now.

Governor Palin is delivering a magnificent speech. Introducing herself, her family and dealing with the crowd and giving an off the cuff joke (which was very funny). She looks Presidential and her speaking ability is amazing. I can’t wait to watch the VP debate this time around. I really like her folksy accent. Makes her seem to be more human and in touch with the regular guy and gal. She is telling everyone how she does things. Sounds very good. The things she says she has done leads me to a question, does she bring a hockey stick to these meetings so that she gets her way? Nice foreign policy-energy policy tie in. The speech writer did a very good job. The little jabs at the opposition is very good.

She is the conservative that the Republican Party needs right now. Notice how she is not a baby-boomer. She is from the next generation. We do not believe in governmental programs unlike the baby-boomer generation. Conservatism needed a spokesman in this election. We got a spokeswoman. That is more than good enough. That is a great thing. She embodies everything that our conservative ideals have been looking for in an elected official. She not only talks the talk, she walks the walk. Cheesy, I know, but true.

I really like the chanting of “Zero” will Obama’s record is mentioned.

I never thought I would put these words down or say them to my friends, but Senator John McCain for President is a great thing. Good job Sen. McCain on your VP pick she is awesome!!!!

Negative Campaigning

When you are mush headed and sensitive beyond being a man, you complain about negative campaigning. How did we get to this point? A campaign is a contest, whose ideas are going to put them in the winners circle. Politics is all about who wins the power. Being negative is just pointing out that your opponent is the opposite of yourself. Showing your opponents positive aspects doesn’t help you win. Compare and contrast is what people consider negative. Pointing out your opponent is not what he says he is. How dare you? This is a liberal idea. That being negative is something bad. If you show liberals in a positive light then they win and conservatives lose. This is because being negative doesn’t make people “feel” good. If you are positive about liberal ideas then they win because of the “feel” good factor.
This “feel” good factor is what helps people forget their responsibilities of being a good citizen that moves their country forward. They relinquish their civic responsibilities to the government and paid civil servants.

This helps people be irresponsible and lazy. Going out every night and sleeping it off in the morning has never helped anyone achieve greatness.

The Obama Campaign and its supporters have accused the McCain Campaign and its supporters of negative campaigning. Ok so what. McCain wants to win. If Obama wants to win he and his supporters will go negative too. Of course, I don’t see how McCain’s campaign is being negative, especially when pointing out what most people already think about Obama. The ad showing Obama as a celebrity ala Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton, is just showing what everyone is thinking. On the other side, a few days ago the worst President in history Jimmy Carter, said the McCain is milking that he was a prisoner of war. While I understand that many people think this, this is an integral part of who McCain is.

This is what has helped define McCain as a human being, and as a public servant. While I don’t usually agree with McCain, I understand how he comes to decisions he does. He does work hard to compromise with his opponents. Even though he is the comprising one. The one thing I will say is that McCain will not be going around trying to intimidate and coerce people into not being critical of him. He at least still believes in free speech.

Obama and his people are trying to shut down discussion by intimidation. This is not negative campaigning or even positive campaigning. This not campaigning at all. This is Soviet style coercion which shut down any discussion because, any discussion could hurt the chances of winning. Which is cheating.

Anytime I hear or read someone saying that this negative campaigning will taint the candidate, I think that it will only heighten the campaign. The only thing in campaigns that I find to be negative are the lies. Obama telling us in one commercial that he wants to lower taxes for the middle class, and while doing that he is going in propose all these new programs. Guess what, the people he says he is going to raise taxes on (people making 250K plus) are not the majority taxpayers. The people making lower than 125K are and they will be the people he will have to tax to pay for his programs. Stop the lies. At least McCain is not even bringing up illegal immigration. He won’t have to lie about what he wants to do. We all know what he wants to do. It’s the same thing that Obama wants to do.

As everyone knows, all candidates are not created equal. Thus, negative campaigning is where the candidates show this off. McCain is old and does not have a media friendly face. While Obama is young and has that fresh face that all media people seem to have and adore. The Spears/Hilton ad shows this. McCain’s old, media unfriendly face has the age and wisdom etched in it. Many people don’t see that anymore. Skin has to be taught and young looking. Of course, a lot of celebrities have destroyed their looks with botched face lifts trying to stay young. All the while not understanding that that wrinkle or crows feet were hard earned wisdom and knowledge that should be passed on not ridiculed and botoxed.

While negative campaigning will continue, I say bring it on. Be creative. All that will happen is the mush heads will stay home on election day with disgust “I’ll show them”. Then the candidate that they secretly wanted to win will lose and their life will go on. They will have more to complain about, while sitting around with the guys viewing a football game that they barely understand anyway.
